We are back from our summer break, and we came back with news. Webster Interiors is now an authorized Alta Window Fashions dealer, carried alongside the full Hunter Douglas line we have offered since 1999.

Alta Joins Hunter Douglas on Our Showroom Floor
Hunter Douglas is not going anywhere. We have been an authorized Hunter Douglas dealer since 1999 and we still carry the complete line, from Silhouette and Pirouette to Duette, Provenance woven woods, and the shutter collections. Alta is an addition, not a replacement.
What Alta adds is range: more styles, more fabrics, more operating systems, and a wider spread of price points. When two good lines sit side by side on the same floor, the odds go up that the right treatment for your window is one we can actually put in front of you rather than one we have to talk you into.
That is the whole reason we added the line. As Ric puts it, we do not want to just sell you something, we want to sell you the right something.
See Both Lines Side by Side Before You Decide
Rochester asks two different things of a window treatment in the same year. West-facing rooms take direct sun for hours on a July afternoon. Then the light comes off Lake Ontario low and gray from November through March, and the problem flips from blocking heat to keeping a room from feeling like a cave.
No catalog tells you how a fabric handles either one. Fabric weight, how a shade reads against real room light, how much view you keep at a given louver angle: those are things you learn by standing in front of a working display and moving it yourself. That is what our showroom in the Village of Webster is set up for, and it is why we would rather you come see the blinds and shades we carry in person than pick from a photo.
Motorized Shades You Can Operate Yourself
Power shades from both Hunter Douglas and Alta are on the floor and live on the window, so you can pick up the remote and run them yourself. Listen to how quiet the motor is, watch how fast it lifts, and see whether the whole idea is worth it to you before you commit a dollar.

More Than Window Treatments
Window treatments are what we are talking about today, but they are one piece of what we do. The showroom also carries custom furniture, area rugs, lighting, custom draperies, wall art, and accessories, and Ric and Sandy handle full room and whole house design.
Our furniture comes from family owned North American manufacturers, including Hallagan, a fourth generation builder about thirty miles down the road in Newark. That same standard for materials and build quality is what we apply when we spec a window.
